Jennifer Lopez certainly isn’t one to take a break. The singer has just released the cover for her new album, A.K.A. and was just named the new recipient of the Billboard Icon Award.
Lopez showed off the album cover on Twitter and Facebook Sunday night. It features her nickname, JLo, plus the short album title. Lopez is seen standing in front of a red background, wearing a red dress with a top made up of strategically-placed belt buckles. This will be her tenth album in just 15 years, notes E! News.

In a press release, Lopez, 44, made it clear that the new album is going to feature a wide variety of musical influences. “I am a lot of different things and I do a lot of different things,” Lopez stated. “I love hip-hop, pop, dance music and R&B. And on this, my 10th album release, I have created a collection of songs that make me feel good and make me feel happy.”
Meanwhile, Billboard has announced that Lopez will receive its Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18. The event will air on ABC.
Lopez and Pitbull will perform “We Are One (Ole Ola)” for the first time at the ceremony. The song will be the anthem for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
“Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation,” Larry Klein, producer of the Billboard Music Awards, said. “We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage."
A.K.A. will be released on June 17. It will include the single “I Luh Ya Papi.”
