The Hunger Games franchise has been such a phenomenal international success that Lionsgate is continuously looking for ways to tap into its potential. That could include theme park attractions, a subject that Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer brought up last fall. Another revenue stream will come from a museum exhibition tour, which will show off props and costumes from the films.

The museum exhibit will be the first step to making the theme park come to fruition. If people will pay to see actual Hunger Games items in person, they would definitely pay to go on rides and experience life as Katniss Everdeen.

According to USA Today, the museum exhibit tour will start in summer 2015, between the release of Mockingjay - Part 1 this November and Part II in November 2015. The tour will last during the months before November 2015 and attendees will be able to buy movie tickets (of course).

Feltheimer first mentioned the possibility of theme park attractions in November 2013 and he told investors that the plan is still in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he said that Thinkwell Group - which is organizing the museum tour - is thinking up a variety of ways to take advantage of the Hunger Games’ popularity.

“As a first step, we've already designed a state-of-the-art traveling museum involving costumes, props and other elements of the Hunger Games world that will begin touring the U.S. next summer,” Feltheimer said the museum tour.

The Hunger Games films are based on Suzanne Collins’ novels and star Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss.
