The pilot who was found dead inside of the 1965 Cessna 210 plane wreckage in California's San Pablo Bay has been identified, it was announced on Thursday.

The pilot was 33-year-old David Plumb, of Rocklin, California, and an autopsy revealed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma, the SFGate reports. Plumb was a licensed airplane pilot and mechanic.

He was the lone passenger on the small 1965 Cessna 210 that crashed into the Bay after colliding midair with another small airplane.

As previously reported, Plumb's plane crashed into a Korean-era show plane, a Hawker Sea Fury TMK 20, near the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. The show plane's occupants, a husband and wife, were both OK after the collision and managed to land safely.

Both planes were returning home together from the Half Moon Bay Airport after participating in the Pacific Coast Dream Machines Festival. The cause of the collision is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
