The first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s new film Kingsman: The Secret Service was released on Tuesday. The film features a bevy of acclaimed British actors like Colin Firth, Michael Caine, and Mark Strong (as well as the not-so-English Samuel L. Jackson).

Based on the comic series by industry staple Mark Millar and the legendary Dave Gibbons, Secret Service follows an international clandestine organization that recruits a young street punk (played by Taron Egerton) into their ultra-competitive training program. It’s young adult James Bond with a south London flavor.

This is not Millar’s fist book to be adapted to the silver screen, nor is it his first time working with Matthew Vaughn. The pair collaborated on the cult hit Kick-Ass (based on Millar’s comic of the same name).

Kick-Ass lampoons the superhero genre that has become so popular in the last decade, but neither Vaughn nor Millar consider themselves to be above it. Millar is perhaps most famous for his work at Marvel, and his acclaimed Superman story Red Son; Vaughn’s most successful film to date was X-Men: First Class.

Secret Service is not the only movie based on Millar’s work coming soon. His tribute to Flash Gordon Starlight is currently at Fox, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura has optioned his new book MPH.

Kingsman: The Secret Service hits theaters on October 24th.
