County music singer George Strait performed before a record-breaking number of people on Saturday night, which was the last stop of his multi-year The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.

At the AT&T Stadium, Strait played before an audience of 104,793 people, according to Artist Direct. The previous record was set back in 1981 by The Rolling Stones and was attended by a still-impressive 87,500 fans.

As previously reported, the legendary country singer started the tour in Lubbock, Texas 17 months ago at the Texas Tech University stadium. During his last-ever wide-scale tour, Strait visited 31 different states and 45 stadiums or arenas.

He opened up last September about feeling a little bit sad while performing on his final, huge tour. "It's a little bittersweet to know that some of these places, I'll never go back to, never play again. It's sad for me, but I'm taking it all in and the crowd, they're giving it to me,"
