Kanye West surprised fans attending Dave Chappelle's Radio City Music Hall show on Friday night and sang three songs.

According to Complex, who first reported the news, West sang "Jesus Walks," "New Slaves" and "Jesus Walks." For that last song, the controversial rapper waded into the crowd and rapped.

This was only the second show of a series that Chappelle has set up at the New York music hall, which is set to go through until next Thursday. Rolling Stone repots that a different musician is scheduled to appear at every show, but West was a complete surprise.

Nas, the Roots, Busta Rhymes, DJ Premiere and Janelle Monae are scheduled to perform during the remaining shows. Erykah Badu is slated to hit the stage for the last set on June 26.

Chappelle started the series of shows last Wednesday, where he joked before the crowd that he was simply performing in order to earn "enough money to disappear again."

Rolling Stone notes that West and Chappelle have a history, which the latter explained on last Friday's episode of The Tonight Show. The 40-year-old comedian noted that he booked West before he hit it big and after he met him, Chappelle said he knew West would one day be big.

Chappelle said he overheard a phone call West got where the rapper said he was busy because "I'm at the edit for the Chappelle's Show watching sketches no one has seen before ... because my life is dope and I do dope s--t."
