Katy Perry announced on Tuesday that the pop singer was launching her very own record label, Metamorphosis Music.
Perry took to Twitter to reveal the news to fans, tweeting, "I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS."
The singer, who opened for Perry on her Prismatic World Tour, released his self-titled EP on Tuesday, which features a track with Perry. She is also credited as an executive producer on the short album, according to Us Weekly.
Perry's "instincts are really on point," Ferras explained in a statement. "She is very blunt and doesn't sugar-coat things, which I appreciate." He added that working with the "Roar" singer allowed him more creative freedom.
The pair have been separately teasing that an announcement of some kind was forthcoming, with the "Legends Never Die" tweeting at the beginning of the month that he was "keeping a secret," but soon could reveal what it is.
Metamorphosis Music came together as a collaborative effort between Perry and her music label, Capital Records.
