Emily Ratajkowski has found an interesting route to stardom. After appearing in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video last summer, the model earned a part in David Fincher’s Gone Girl. Her next gig will pair her with Zac Efron in a project called We Are Your Friends.
The new film marks the directorial debut for Max Joseph, the co-star of MTV’s hit Catfish. According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the script was written by Joseph with Meaghan Oppenheimer, based on Richard Silverman’s story set in the San Fernando Valley.
TheWrap reports that it is a Working Title production with backing from Studio Canal.
The story centers on a 23-year-old wannabe DJ who falls for the younger girlfriend of an older DJ. Deadline describes it as a Saturday Night Fever-style film that trades disco for EDM. Jonny Weston, Shiloh Fernandez and Alex Shaffer make up the supporting cast.
Ratajkowski can be seen as the young mistress of Ben Affleck’s character in Gone Girl, which opens in October and is based on the Gillian Flynn novel.
