The directors of Captain America: Winter Soldier, and possibly the director of The First Avenger, will helm the first few episodes of the next Marvel series Agent Carter.

Marvel Studios co-president Louis D'Esposito revealed that Anthony and Joe Russo have been tapped to direct the second and third episode of the new ABC series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition, Joe Johnson might be directing the fourth episode, though that one is up to scheduling.

Hayley Atwell is returning to star as the titular Peggy Carter, who was created by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely for the first Captain America movie.

The series is set shortly after the end of The First Avenger in 1946, with Agent Carter leading the way. "We see the cost psychologically and emotionally of someone taking on extreme pressure," Atwell said.

Agent Carter was given a full season order back in early May, when Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was renewed.

The second season of the moderately successful TV series will feature Lucy Lawless in an unknown role and Colbie Smulders is also set to make an appearance in the series as Agent Maria Hill.
