A new, extended trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hit the web on Monday, giving audiences a new look at the plot and a better introduction to all the characters.

Guardians features some of the most obscure Marvel characters in the Marvel Universe, so the studio has been busy introducing them to general audiences. Humor has been a huge key of that in the previous trailers and while this one has plenty of that, the studio brought in more action this time.

In the film, the Guardians of the Galaxy meet in prison, but soon break out and get busy saving the galaxy. In other words, this film has a much bigger environment than just New York, like in The Avengers.

The characters may be obscure, but the actors are not. Chris Pratt headlines the cast as Star Lord, while Zoe Saldana trades in the blue Avatar skin for green skin to play Gamora. Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper lend their voices for Groot and Rocket Racoon, respectively. Dave Bautista plays Drax the Destroyer.

Guardians was directed by James Gunn and hits theaters on Aug. 1.
