Patrick Wilson has had to depart the upcoming Marvel film Ant-Man, while two other cast members will no longer appear.
Wilson had to pull out of the troubled project over scheduling conflicts, while Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman will simply just not be in the film a source explained to The Hollywood Reporter.
It isn't exactly known what role the trio played in the film due to Marvel's tendency towards secrecy, so who knows if any played that big a part in the film and can't be easily replaced. Ant-Man's stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas still appear to be full go with the film, but with this project is anything but predictable at this point.
Ant-Man has been in flux since director Edgar Wright's departure in late May. The decision was said to be "amicable," but it was believed that the studio was too controlling and looked to rewrite the script.
After a two week search, Marvel eventually settled on bringing in Yes Man director Adam McKay to helm the comic book film.
As previously reported, Wright has now settled in on directing an adaptation of YA novel Grasshopper Jungle from author Andrew Smith. He also is looking to bring his own script Baby Driver to screen.
