Newcommer Christina Chong has landed a part in Star Wars: Episode VII. The British actress was recently seen in Fox’s 24: Live Another Day mini-series.
As with everything else surrounding Episode VII, the role for the new star is being kept under wraps. Her casting was first reported by Latino Review.
However, Variety reports that Chong has likely earned a small role. TheWrap even reports that her part may have already been filmed.
Chong joins a large group of young actors the director J.J. Abrams has brought to the Star Wars saga. John Boyega, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen are among the other young actors set to be in the movie.
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill have all returned. Production was recently delayed after Ford injured his leg. Still, Disney and Lucasfilm are expecting the movie to be ready in time for the Dec. 18, 2015 release date.
Aside from Live Another Day, Chong is also set to appear in Halo: Nightfall. She’s also worked on several British TV shows, including Doctor Who, and even had a role in Madonna’s W.E..
