Lots of people have been talking about Miley Cyrus' date to the VMAs but the reasons why they are talking about him are not all good.
As we reported, a new name has been floating around Hollywood since the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards aired Sunday. That name is Jesse Helt. Helt, a 22-year-old homeless man from Oregon accompanied Miley Cyrus to the awards show and accepted the award for "Video of the Year" on her behalf. During his acceptance speech, Helt drew attention to the struggles of homeless youth and asked people to visit Miley Cyrus' Facebook page to help.
But according to Inside Edition, Helt is a wanted man. Court documents showed that Helt was arrested and sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to attempted burglary. Helt had an outstanding arrest warrant for violating his probation.
Helt came to Los Angeles to start a modeling career and was found by Miley Cyrus living in a shelter. Oregon Live got in contact with Helt's mother Linda who confirmed his identity and also told the story of how Helt was found by Miley Cyrus. "He was at the right place at the right time." It's time for him to have some good luck..He needs to be blessed," she said.
