Jodi Aria, who was convicted in the 2008 murder of her ex-boyfriend, has decided against representing herself during the sentencing retrial after all.

Back in August, Arias provided an oral motion asking that she be allowed to represent herself.

Though Judge Sherry Stephens ultimately granted the 34-year-old's request, she did try to convince Arias not to go through with it. The move wasn't surprising after the difficulty she had with her two lawyers, Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott, who both sought to be removed as her defense attorneys.

Well now Arias has possibly decided to heed the judge's suggestions a month later, reports Reuters, though she did not provide a reason for the about-face. She is asking that the motion go into effect now.

The move comes less than a month before jury selection begins as prosecutors continue to seek the death penalty after she was found guilty of killing Travis Alexander.

He was found having been stabbed several times and shot in the head in his home. Arias claimed she only acted out of self-defense.
