Jimi Jameson, the lead singer for the 1980s band Survivor, passed away on Sunday at the age of 63 after suffering a heart attack.

Sally Irwin, the singer's booking agent, confirmed the his death, which came only a day after he performed in Northern California, according to TMZ, who was the first to report the news.

Jamison sang for both Survivor and Cobra during his musical career. He was with the band for four years and during that time helped produce several songs that went on to appear in film and television, Rolling Stone reports.

Their song "The Moment of Truth" appeared in The Karate Kid while in Rocky IV, the tracks "Is This Love" and "Burning Heart" could be heard. His solo track "I'm Always Here" was used for the theme song on Baywatch.

Jamison sang with Cobra until 1984 when the band called it a day. He then replaced David Bickler as the lead singer for Survivor. Bickler dropped out after learning he had polyps on his vocal chords.

Survivor broke up after three albums with Jamison, but eventually got back together in 1993 only with Bickler. In 2000, Jamison returned to the band after performing in the 1990s as Survivor.

After two lawsuits, the two sides eventually were able to come to terms and both Bickler and Jamison would tour with the band.
