Audiences at the Wheatland Music Festival in Michigan got a special sneak preview of I Saw the Light, a new Hank Williams biopic that will star Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston. The British actor surprised audiences by performing a country music classic at the festival this weekend.

Hiddleston is seen in one video performing the 1947 clasic “Move It On Over,” Williams’ first big hit. According to Rolling Stone, Hiddleston was also seen with a living country legend, Rodney Crowell and also sang “I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.” Crowell is working on I Saw the Light as the musical director and Hiddleston has credited him with helping him understand Williams, who died on New Year’s Day 1953.

The actor, who is known around the world as the Thor villian Loki, was cast as Williams in June. The film is expected to start shooting next month in Louisiana.

Marc Abraham is directing I Saw the Light, which will be based on Colin Escott’s Williams biography. Aaron L. Gilbert, Brett Ratner, G. Marq Roswell and Abraham are the producers.
