With Skyfall being a huge critical and financial success for the Bond franchise, it was never a matter of if, but when a new 007 film would be making its way in front of cameras. While details are still being set, if these latest rumors are true, the film has a very good actor in mind for its villain. For two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz is supposedly getting the part of the undisclosed bad guy.

The news comes from The Daily Mail reporter Baz Bamigboye, who tweeted the following earlier:

According to Slashfilm, the reporter has a good history of being right on these Bond reports, so it is very likely Waltz is terrorizing Daniel Craig's James Bond in some form or another in the action sequel. Apparently, Waltz takes over the part from 12 Years a Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was in talks a couple weeks ago.

Whether or not the report is true, with a December production start date looming, it will be announced one way or the other if this is official. In addition to Craig and possibly Waltz, also set to star in Bond 24 is returning stars Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes. Also said to be in the new film is Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), as female fatale and key henchman, respectively.

Skyfall director Sam Mendes is returning to helm Bond 24, with a script from John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth. The new film is set to be released October 23, 2014 in the U.K. and November 6, 2015 in the states.
