Rosamund Pike has been in the business for a while, but it wasn’t really until David Fincher’s Gone Girl that she got the role of a lifetime as Amy Dunne. With a role like that under her belt, she’s going to be in high demand from now and has just picked her next gig.
Pike is currently in talks with Fox 2000 and Chernin Entertainment to star in The Mountain Between Us, a survival love story based on a novel by Charles Martin. Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now) has been hired to direct and Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam will play the male lead.
News of the talks was reported by Variety and Deadline.
Mountain’s script was written by J. Mills Goodloe and Scott Frank. The producers are Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and David Reading. Shooting will not start until the end of next year, since Hunnam is filming Knights of the Round Table in the early part of the year. Pike is also expecting a child.
Pike should be in the Oscar discussion for Best Actress after her performance in Gone Girl opposite Ben Affleck. She also filmed the indie drama Return to Sender.
As for Hunnam, he just filmed Crimson Peak with his Pacific Rim director, Guillermo Del Toro and just wrapped FX’s Sons of Anarchy.
