A new trailer for Lionsgate’s Mortdecai surfaced today, introducing us to a new eccentric character for Johnny Depp to sink his teeth into.
The title character is an art dealer who is used to the high life, but has fallen on some hard financial times. So, he takes a job to help find a valuable missing painting in the name of “Queen and country, travel and living expenses... and reasonable overhead.”
Mortdecai is based on a series of novels by Kyril Bonfiglioli and directed by David Koepp. The script was written with Eric Aronson and Peter Baynham.
Depp’s all-star cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow as Mortdecai's wife and Ewan McGregor as the man who hires him. Paul Bettany, Olivia Munn, Aubrey Plaza, and Oliver Platt also star.
You can check out the first trailer from August here and the new one is below.
Mortdecai is now scheduled for Jan. 23. While you wait to see Depp in that movie, you can check him out in Disney’s musical Into The Woods, which opens on Christmas Day.
