Four months after Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over the Ukraine, amateur video of the crash has surfaced.
The Associated Press obtained the footage of the aftermath from an unnamed source.
The two-minute clip shows stunned residents in the village of Hrabove reacting just minutes after the plane went down in a nearby field. Some of them can be seen rushing to the site with buckets of water trying to put out the massive fire.
The international passenger flight departed from Amsterdam and was headed to Kuala Lumpur on July 17. It was shot down over a territory controlled by pro-Russian separatists. All 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board died.
CBS News reported that on Sunday, workers in eastern Ukraine began cleaning up the wreckage left behind where the Boeing 777 went down.
Ukraine, along with several other countries, have said that they believe the MH17 flight was brought down with surface-to-air missile by Russia-backed separatists. However, many questions still surround the eventual fate of the jetliner and the crash remains under investigation.
