Come time to see X-Men: Apocalypse, don't expect to see Halle Berry, Famke Janssen or James Marsden, because their iconic characters of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops have just been recasted.

Slashfilm got the news that Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) has been cast as young Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan (Tree of Life, Mud) got the part as young Cyclops and Alexandra Shipp got handed the part of young Storm. All three stars tested for their parts earlier this month.

Director Bryan Singer confirmed the roles of the young actors in the film via Twitter.

Turner also responded through the social media site with a simple "OMG."

These newbie X-Men will be joining Oscar Isaac, who'll play the titular villain Apocalypse, as well as returning cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Hugh Jackman. Also quite possibly starring in the movie is Channing Tatum as Gambit. Don't expect to see Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen in the movie however.

Sheridan was up against Taron Egerton (the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Jamie Blackley (If I Stay) for the part. Turner, meanwhile, fought against Academy Award-nominee Saoirse Ronan and Shipp battled for the role against Zendaya Coleman (Shake It Up). This is apparently not the first time Shipp has taken a part from Coleman.

X-Men: Apocalypse takes place in 1980, and will be considered the final chapter of the First Class trilogy. It's scheduled to start production this spring and will play in theaters on May 27, 2016.
