With the recent outbreaks of Measles occurring in the United States, more people are suffering from anxiety.
The New York Times reports that with the growing number of outbreaks in the U.S., concerns of anxiety are rising because people are so afraid they may contract the deadly disease.
Since Jan. 1, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 84 cases of measles in 14 different states. They believe that 52 of those cases are linked to the Disneyland outbreaks earlier this month.
According to The Times, cases of anxiety rose on Friday specifically due to health official’s notifying people who could have come into contact with one student from University of Minnesota who was diagnosed with the disease.
In Arizona, the anxiety was also rising for the thousands of people coming in to attend the Super Bowl in Phoenix. Officials are advising people to stay home if they think they have any symptoms and to not attend the game.
