A high school in Philadelphia will get its own recording studio thanks to money donated by Drake.

Strawberry Mansion High School is located in one of the city's poorest and most dangerous neighberhoods. The school's principal, Linda Cliatt-Wayman, had been working to improve student interest and academics by investing in a recording studio. The Huffington Post reports that Drake was inspired to help the school after seeing a report about Cliatt-Wayman's efforts. After a concert in Philadelphia last year, Drake spoke to the students to announce that he would help fund the studio by donating $75,000 to the cause.

"This is about you. This is about your principal. This is about your future," Drake said as his guests screamed with joy. "I love you. I care about you. I want to see you succeed."

According to Complex, the studio includes new instruments, equipment and revamped sound systems. The studio had been finished for some time but was left unused until the school hired an instructor last month. The students found out about the studio's opening after a song recorded in it was played over the PA system.

Drake is busy in the studio himself as his next album is expected to be released this spring.
