As filmmaker Harmony Korine rounds up his next film, The Trap, he's got quite the line-up. For his follow-up, Al Pacino, James Franco, Robert Pattinson, Benicio Del Toro and now Idris Elba to replace Jamie Foxx in the gangster drama.

The Hollywood Reporter reported on this news. In addition to this, they confirm Focus Features to release The Trap in the U.S., while Lionsgate handles the international release with the company shopping the project next at Cannes.

As the publication reported in November, The Trap follows two childhood friends (Del Toro and then Foxx, now Elba) now in their mid-to-late 30s, with one, Rico (Elba), a very successful rap artist and the other, Slim (Del Toro), a prisoner for the past 14 years. When Rico gets celebrated on an upcoming Grammy ceremony, Slim comes to him seeking revenge for not only his wealth and success, but for him marrying his girlfriend and raising his son on his own.

Pattinson plays Max, a leader of a crew of Uzi-wielding surfers recruited by Slim.
Slim also receives the help of Rico's cocaine-happy manager (Franco). Meanwhile, Slim's parole officer is the role Pacino owns.

While the first time Elba, Del Toro, Pacino and Pattinson worked with Korine, Franco, of course, worked with the actor as the now-famous Spring Breakers stand-out Alien.

Elba recently starred in The Gunman and soon stars in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Netflix's Beasts of No Nation, A Hundred Streets and Bastille Day. He currently films a role in Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book and gives his voice to Finding Dory.
