Mad Men star Jon Hamm opened up about his feelings toward the show's final episodes.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hamm, who stars as 1960's advertising executive Don Draper, didn't show much emotion after filming the final episode in July. Hamm said that he's thought about the ending over time and feels content with what he and the cast have accomplished throughout the years.

"It’s a long run and a long ride, and a lot of people worked really hard on it," Hamm said. "So I feel like it’s deserved to take a moment and really feel like, ‘Okay, this is what we did.’ And we should be proud of it.”

Hamm went from being a struggling actor to a breakout star after Mad Men premired on AMC in 2007. Hamm added that he's glad the show is ending the way the creator's wanted it to and said that Don Draper may cross his mind from time to time in the future. With plans for a spinoff not working out, it appears that fans will see the last of Draper at the end of the final season.

Mad Men will begin airing its final episodes on April 5.
