The Griswold family is back and Chevy Chase is even coming along for the ride. Warner Bros. released the first photo from the upcoming Vacation reboot on Monday.
The image shows a smiling Ed Helms, along with Christina Applegate, Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. Chris Hemsworth and Leslie Mann, who are also supposed to be in the film, are nowhere to be found.
Late last month, the film was rescheduled for release on July 31, providing audiences with counterprogramming for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Helms stars as a grown-up Rusty Griswold, while Applegate stars as his wife. Mann will star as Audrey Griswold, with Hemsworth as her husband. The film’s plot centers on Rusty’s dreams of taking his own family on a road trip.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein wrote the script and are directing.
The new film isn’t the only time we will see Chase and D’Angelo together. They are set to star in an untitled ABC pilot, which will be written by Brad Copeland (Arrested Development, My Name Is Earl).
Vacation is the latest film in the National Lampoon's Vacation franchise, which kicked off with the beloved 1983 Harold Ramis film.
This summer, the Griswolds are back. #VacationMovie
