On April 21, “Die Young” pop-vocalist, Ke$ha, performed live in Washington D.C. at the Black Cat. Instead of only cranking out her old number one hits, the hippie-at-heart star covered several top charting songs of today.
This marks her first public performance since she went off the grid for rehab due to an unhealthy body image, according to Billboard. She took the stage decked out in a black leather bodysuit with boots to match, along with tights infused with the singer’s all-time favorite accessory, glitter. Although Ke$ha didn’t debut any new music, she did rock some tunes other than her own. “I Don’t F--k With You” by Big Sean, “Loyal” by Chris Brown, and “Jealous” by Nick Jonas made the acoustic set list.
This event may have been a one-of-a-kind show, but Ke$ha has other stops planned for performances, including venues at the University of Maryland, Rehab Pool at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and Los Angeles Pride Fest in West Hollywood Park. All three tour dates take place April through June. By the overwhelming positive reactions from the crowd on her first stop, Ke$ha fans are in for a whole new experience, one that generates all the feels.
