As if Christopher Miller and Phil Lord don’t have enough on their plate already, the directing duo is reportedly being considered to develop Warner Bros.’ The Flash movie.

The news was first reported by Latino Review on Instagram and then confirmed by TheWrap and other sites.

Miller and Lord were only hired to develop the script, so it’s possible that another write would be brought in later to work on it as well. They were also not hired to direct and considering their other commitments, that might be hard to do.

The duo already have a relationship with Warner Bros., as the studio released The LEGO Movie. However, they also have a relationship with Sony thanks to the successful 21 Jump Street films. Sony had wanted them to make a Ghostbusters movie, but eventually turned that down. Sony is still interested in getting them for another Ghostbusters project.

They also work on Will Forte’s Last Man on Earth Fox series, which was just picked up for another season.

As for the Flash movie, it will be released in 2018 and will star Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. It will have nothing to do with the hit CW series.
