Adelitas Way is returning to the rock sound that is not only simple but connects with audiences because it tells a story. Way doesn't feel the need to change their vocals or channel EDM influences, they stay true to their rock 'n' roll influences and have released an album that not only echoes that but amplifies it to new levels.
Deserve This opens with the single by the same name. The title track comes out with heavy guitar rifts, intricate drum solos and is complemented by smooth vocals. It comes out with a strong sound and doesn't apologize for not changing classic rock 'n' roll elements, this is an EP that knows its sound and isn't afraid to amplify it.
The EP seamlessly transitions into "I Get Around" which is the most catchy track on the album and has the highest single potential, it brings in all of the elements that helped to introduce their sound on the first track but focuses more on developing the lyrics and has a catchy melody that is infectious.
After "I Get Around" the album slows down and channels a feeling of early Red Hot Chili Peppers and even at times The Foo Fighters. Fans who are listening to this album can go through and find different influences that have all come together to create this traditional yet modern rock 'n' roll sound.
Closing out the EP is "Harbor The Fugitive" and "Sometimes You're Meant To Get Used." Both songs further the album and help to make a more complete picture of what the band has to offer. This is an album that builds on each song and showcases that embrace rock 'n' roll isn't dead.
As a band, they pride themselves on not going through the traditional route when it comes to music and want to build their fan base organically and often provide opportunities for their fans to connect with them and help push their music forward.
