Viral sensations come and go, but the story of Miles Scott will not disappear like many of them do. Scott is the young boy diagnosed with leukemia who inspired all of San Francisco to become Gotham City for a day so he could live out his dream as Batkid. The story is the subject of Batkid Begins, a documentary which is getting a rare release from a major studio.

Warner Bros.’ New Line snapped up distribution rights or the film after it was screened at the Sundance Film Festival and announced last month that they will be releasing the film on June 26. Today, the studio released a trailer, which reminds us of why we fell in love with Miles’ amazing story in the first place.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation in San Francisco managed to turn the city into Gotham City for a day for Miles and teamed him up with an adult Batman to help solve crimes around the city in November 2013. Everyone else got in on the act, urging him to solve crimes and stop a bank robbery. He was even given the key to city and got responses from actors who really did play Batman. President Barack Obama even thanked him for saving Gotham.

The trailer shows clips from interviews with Miles’ parents, the organizers who made it happened and Batman Begins composer Hans Zimmer.

Batkid Begins was directed by Dana Nachman.
