Actors Robert Pattinson and Lena Dunham are celebrating their birthdays today, May 13.

Robert Pattinson, 29

Actor, model, musician and producer Robert Pattinson turns 29 today. Pattinson started his career with minor televisions roles in different series and television films. He gained some recognition for his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, earning the title "British Star of Tomorrow" by The Times.

Pattinson gained worldwide recognition for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight film series based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer.

Pattinson also had a career as a model, starting at the age of 12. He has since appeared in ads for Hackett's autumn 2007 collection and for Dior Homme fragrance. He also plays the guitar and piano, and composes his own music, including two songs on the Twilight soundtrack, "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign."

In 2011, Pattinson starred in Water for Elephants, based on the Sara Gruen novel of the same name. After the success of Twilight, he went on to star in The Rover and most recently Maps to the Stars alongside Julianna Moore, John Cusack and Mia Wasikowska.

Pattinson had a previous relationship with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart and is now engaged to singer, songwriter and dancer FKA twigs.

Lena Dunham, 29

Actress, author, screenwriter, producer and director Lena Dunham turns 29 today. While in college, Dunham produced several independent short films for YouTube. In 2007, she starred in a ten-episode web series for Nerve.com entitled Tight Shots. In 2010, Tiny Furniture, a film in which Dunham wrote, directed and starred, was released and became her breakthrough moment. The film won Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest Music and Media Conference.

Dunham later earned a deal with HBO for her own series. Girls premiered in 2012 and received great reviews from critics at the 2012 South by Southwest Festival. She earned four Emmy nominations for her roles in acting, writing and directing and won two Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series.

Dunham released her first book, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned" in 2012 with Random House publishing. The book reached #2 on the The New York Times Best Seller list.

Dunham is currently in a relationship with guitarist, formally from the band Fun., Jack Antonoff.
