As we previously reported, Lohan will be working with preschoolers at the Duffield Children’s Center in Brooklyn, where she must complete 115 hours of service in order to avoid jail time.
The actress has quite the busy schedule ahead of her. A source told that she will be working “a marathon of 10-hour shifts” to meet her target hours.
Lohan was supposed to start her community service on Tuesday, but will now begin on Wednesday instead. Ivonne Lopez, director of early childhood programs at Duffield, addressed Lohan’s absence saying, “There are some things that need to be managed before she can start. She needs to be cleared.”
A letter was sent out to parents notifying them that Lohan would be volunteering at Duffield. The letter stated that there was a possibility of Lohan being “placed in a classroom” with their child and that they “would be under constant supervision.” The letter also revealed that Lohan would be “performing administrative work” during her time volunteering.
If Lohan fails to fulfill her required hours by May 28, prosecutors say the starlet could be looking at nine months behind bars.
