Nearly two months after we first heard that Paramount was planning to expand the Transformers series with the help of a “writers’ room,” we now know who will have membership. The studio has reportedly picked The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and four other writers to work with Akiva Goldsman.

A Beautiful Mind, was first hired to oversee the writers’ room in March, but it wasn’t until April that Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner confirmed that a fifth Transformers movie is coming.

That new film won’t be written by Goldsman, as he will be more like a “showrunner,” working with Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Hasbro to plot out sequels and spin-offs. The writers Goldsman, Paramount and Hasbro have picked are Kirksman; Iron Man team Art Marcum & Matt Holloway; Zak Penn, who is working on Pacific Rim 2; and Jeff Pinker, who worked on Lost and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

According to Deadline, the deals with all five were just signed and more writers are expected to join.

Goldner said that the next Transformers movie will be out in 2017. It will follow in the footsteps of 2014’s Age of Extinction, which grossed $1 billion internationally.
