A new clip from Amy, Asif Kapadia’s documentary on the late singer Amy Winehouse, hit the web Monday. It’s raw home video, showing that the “Back To Black” singer was destined for stardom.

The clip shows Winehouse at a friend’s birthday party. At first, everyone is singing “Happy Birthday,” but once Winehouse takes over, she has everyone stunned. She’s only 14 in the video.

A full trailer for the film was released in April, just before the film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. It was directed by Kapadia, who is best known for the acclaimed Senna film about Formula 1 racer Ayrton Senna.

Winehouse’s father and family came out against the film, but Kapadia defended his work at Cannes.

“I'm not pointing the finger, I'm just saying this is really complicated. But there are issues, and there are maybe things that could have been done differently,” Kapadia told the Associated Press. “[Amy is] turning the mirror on everyone, saying, we're all slightly to blame, complicit, a part of this system -- this circus -- that it became.”

Winehouse died in 2011. She was just 27 and only released two albums before her death.

Amy opens in New York and Los Angeles on July 3 and nationwide on July 10. It's being distributed by A24.
