Country star, Daron Norwood, was found dead on Wednesday.
The singer was found unresponsive in his Hereford, Texas apartment. Norwood was 49.
The musician signed with Giant Records in the 1990s. The company is also known to sign with country artists such as Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson.
Norwood moved to Nashville in 1988. His top hits include "Cowboys Don't Cry" and "If It Wasn't For Her I Wouldn't Have You," both released in 1994 and featured in Billboard's Top 100 hits.
Norwood walked away from music in 1995 after releasing his second album. The singer struggled with alcohol abuse, but he was not done recording. He came back with an indie and gospel song in 2002 called "In God We Trust."
According to FOX News, Hereford police said that investigators do not suspect foul in Norwood's death. However, the cause of the death is still unconfirmed. Norwood's body was found by his landlord in the afternoon.
The landlord wanted to check up on Norwood after the singer came back from a night out with friends. Police say the body had no signs of trauma.
