Flame made the comments on radio station Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, and looked to defend his statements Friday night on Twitter. He tweeted, “So now I’m #Homophobic because I don’t agree with #CaitlinJenner Smh,” as well as, “Real people respect real s-- not headlines #WakaFlockaFlame.”

The rapper made these comments in response to a question about his presidential campaign, which he launched earlier this year. Flame launched the campaign in order to “enlighten” his peers, and then discussed his worldview throughout the interview.

“You know what the world is today, man? Women are afraid to be a wife and young males are afraid to be men. It’s like it’s not cool, they’re not marketing that. They don’t market families and husbands and wives no more. They’re marketing young girls, transgenders, they’re marketing evil, man.”

Co-host on The Breakfast Club Charlamagne The God, briefly interrupted the rapper before he continued and commented that Flocka has nothing against people’s preferences, “but putting it on TV, that’s crazy, man.”

According to People Magazine, a rep for Flame did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
