Guillermo Del Toro has had a few problems trying to get a new project off the ground. He didn’t end up directing The Hobbit, and Pacific Rim 2 might not happen for quite some time. It looks like Del Toro might go back to the well and try to dig up a new project.

In a new interview with The Guardian, del Toro opened up about that indie project, which is called Silva and is about a Luchador who discovers that all politicians are vampires. Del Toro has some experience with vampire movies as he was at the helm for Blade II and Cronos, so a low budget black and white film could be successful.

Del Toro has been involved with numerous projects and has either dropped out or the project has fallen through. It seems that he also wants to move into the independent film scene. According to Slash Film.com, Del Toro does not plan on working with big budget films for much longer.

While some fans may want to see Hellboy 3 or Pacific Rim 2, they may have to wait a little longer or eventually give it up. Expect the experienced director to stick to smaller projects such as Silva.
