Leah Remini is blowing the lid off of the Church of Scientology in her new memoir Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology and ahead of its release next month, she’s sharing new details on 20/20.

Remini left the church in 2013 and has been vocal about wanting to keep her young daughter, Sofia, 11, out of it before the vetting process began. Sofia got baptized in the Catholic Church in September.

“As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset becomes ‘Us against them,’” Remini told Dan Harris in a 20/20 clip, Huffington Post reports. “The decision to leave is you are giving up everything you have ever known and everything you have worked for your whole life.”

She went on to discuss the church’s most recognized figure, Tom Cruise, saying it’s forbidden to speak negatively about him.

“Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself. You are evil," she told Harris.
