Miley Cyrus has just signed with RCA Records, which her new album will be released under, and the follow-up to Can’t Be Tamed(2010) will definitely be released this year.

Cyrus has talked a lot about her excitement over this album and the freedom she’s had with it since she’s no longer affiliated with the Disney Channel.

She’s been collaborating with Dr. Luke, Pharrell Williams, Hit-Boy, and Da Internz and even Tyler, the Creator.

"I've been in so many sessions and just kind of bunkering down and working really hard and perfecting everything,” she told Billboard at September’s iHeart Musica Festival. “I've never really had time to do that, to kind of have my record kind of 'done' and then sit there and make it until it's perfect. So, it's been really, really fun. This whole year that's all I've really dedicated life to."

MTV News reports that Cyrus has also previously explained what fans can expect on this album, saying “When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening to Dolly [Parton] and Johnny [Cash], and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that."

Last June, after she got engaged to Liam Hemsworth, reports started piling in about her new album. Now, we know it’s confirmed to be released sometime this year.
