Bill O’Reilly had a rough day in court.
According to the New York Daily News, O’Reilly did not win custody of his 16-year-old daughter or 12-year-old son. O’Reilly’s ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy, remains in charge of their children together.
“There is a sound and substantial basis for the Supreme Court's determination that it is in the best interests of the children for the mother to be awarded primary residential custody,” the New York Appeals Court said.
The court continued to explain that the Fox News host’s children would prefer to live with their mother.
“Particularly relevant in this case are the clearly stated preferences of the children, especially considering their age and maturity, and the quality of the home environment provided by the mother.”
O’Reilly has visitation rights on alternating weekends and various other days.
O’Reilly and McPhilmy got divorced in 2011, and McPhilmy got custody of their children. O’Reilly was accused of domestic violence during the hearing, but he denied the allegations.
