Cooper Hefner, Hugh Hefner’s youngest son, is slamming his father’s company for getting rid of nude photos and putting the iconic Playboy Mansion up on the market.
Cooper said in a new interview that he has taken a step back in his involvement in the company because of these decisions.
“What hell is the company doing?” he asked Business Insider. In October, Playboy announced they were eliminating nudity from the magazine. Last month, the Mansion went on the market for over $200 million.
Cooper said he was a board observer and an international ambassador for the brand who attended “every single” board meeting, but he’s no longer attending the meetings due to his belief Playboy is headed in the wrong direction as a company.
He also said he has a “difference in vision” with Playboy’s CEO Scott Flanders.
“I was essentially asked to no longer participate in the board meetings because I didn’t agree with his vision for the company,” he continued.
Cooper went on to say it’s “challenging” for him to even talk about the Playboy Mansion going up for sale because he doesn’t “understand the logic.”
The Playboy founder’s 24-year-old son even said “in some capacity” he’s been “pushed out” of the company and he’s now taking a stand to reclaim his position.
