Kanye West is once again stirring up trouble on social media.
West took to Twitter to defend comedian Bill Cosby after he was accused of sexually assaulting over 40 different women spanning over multiple decades.
“BILL COSBY INNOCENT !!!!” West tweeted.
It is unclear why West is commenting on Cosby’s case right now, but the singer immediately started facing backlash on the internet.
Comedian Sarah Silverman quoted and responded to West’s tweet.
“Kanye!! You can’t be for real. FIFTY WOMEN. With nothing to gain thanks to a statue of limitations ON RAPE. Oy,” Silverman wrote.
Actress Kristen Bell retweeted Silverman’s tweet. Scandal star Josh Malina also tweeted about West.
“KANYE WEST DELUDED !!!!” Malina wrote, copying West’s tweet format.
A judge recently ruled that despite a 2005 deal with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, Cosby can still be prosecuted in Pennsylvania.
West made headlines for fighting with rapper Wiz Khalifa last week. The pair fought about West’s album name, but made up a few days later.
Cosby has yet to comment on West’s support.
