Keira Knightley, the queen of period movies, is reportedly the star that Barbra Streisand wants for a biopic on Russia’s Catherine The Great.

Knightley met with producers on the project in 2015, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Since then, the talks have been moving very slowly.

Streisand officially boarded the project in December 2015 and it will be produced by The Life of Pi’s Gil Netter. The script was written by Kristina Lauren Anderson and landed on the 2014 Black List of great unproduced screenplays.

The Catherine the Great film will be Streisand’s first film as director since 1996’s The Mirror Has Two Faces. Catherine was Russia’s longest-serving female ruler and lead from 1962 to 1769.

Knightley has made efforts recently to star in more modern stories, earning an Oscar nomination last year for the World War II-set The Imitation Game and starring in Begin Again and Seeking A Friend For The End of The World. She’s also signed up for Collateral Beauty with Will Smith and Colette.
