The Transformers universe will continue on past a fifth movie, whether Michael Bay likes it or not. Paramount has scheduled three movies, including two more after the fifth one.
Transformers 5 will come out on June 23, 2017, which just happens to be the same day that Warner Bros. will release Wonder Woman. Even though Michael Bay had said once that he was done with the franchise, he changed his mind and will be back for one more movie.
According to Variety, Transformers 6 will come out on June 8, 2018 (the same day Warner BRos.’ Godzilla 2 comes out) and Transformers 7 ir due on June 28, 2019.
Mark Wahlberg is expected to be back for the fifth movie and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing. The first four movies have made a combined $3.7 billion worldwide. The most recent film was 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Last year, Paramount brought in Akiva Goldsman to assemble a writers’ room to hash out ideas for the future of the franchise. That will help them out once Bay leaves.
