Ellie Goulding has announced she will be taking a break from music in the upcoming year.
The 29-year-old British singer has reportedly said she needs a break from the music industry to deal with her heartbreak. Goulding recently split with her boyfriend of two years, McFly bassist, Dougie Poynter.
The breakup has been extremely hard for Goulding, who once thought Poynter was "the one."
“People think I’m invincible but these past few weeks have been tough. When you’re in the public eye, it seems like you’re able to deal with stuff better than anyone else, which is not remotely true. I’m not in a relationship anymore and that’s been hard. Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head,” Goulding told The Sun.
The "Delirium" singer is currently on tour for her third album in the United Kingdom and is scheduled to finish in October. It is no wonder why the singer is burnt out and needs some time to clear her head. In just seven years Goulding has released three albums, won two Brit Awards and been on tour six times.
She took to Twitter to confirm that we have not seen the last of her, though, and she will be back.
