Drake may be celebrating his 30th birthday today but he is also still feeling the wrath of Twitter after he released a track dissing Kid Cudi, who recently entered a rehab facility for help with depression and suicidal thoughts.
Drizzy released new music for his fans on Sunday, Oct. 24 and one song really has people talking, just not for the reasons Drake had hoped. Instead of being praised for the four tracks he put out, he is being criticized heavily for the lyrics in "Two Birds One Stone." In it, Drake actually calls Cudi's mental health issues "phases."
“I like your old shit, but wasn’t in love with the latest/ You were the Man on the Moon, now you just go through your phases/Life of the angry and famous.”
Cudi penned an emotional letter to his fans earlier this month about his decision to get help by checking into a facility for "depression and suicidal urges." He also admitted exactly how he felt and why he needed to take action, "I am not at peace. I haven’t been since you’ve known me. If I didn’t come here, I wouldve done something to myself. I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life."
So Drake's take on his mental health appalled many in the Twittersphere and they let him have it.
Here is some of the backlash he received over the line:
