Metallica gives shout out to Daniel Krilov on Instagram.
On Nov. 25, Metallica gave high praise to a 10-year-old boy who delivered a cover of the band's song from their newest album, which has been featured on the band's Instagram page. The band typically sends out a request to fans to cover a track off their new album, which will then be featured on their page. Krilov has been playing the drums for only two years and decided to send in a video of his cover from the band's newest album Hardwired... to Self-Destruct.
Needless to say, the band loved his cover because they reposted it on their Instagram page. The post is captioned, "Today's fan cover comes from @djkdrums and features the young drummer jamming on 'Atlas, Rise!' Nice work dude! ???? Keep the #HTSDFanCoverscoming! #metallica#hardwiredtoselfdestruct #covervideo#repost."
According to WPVI-TV, Krilov is a School of Rock Philadelphia student. The recorded video of him rocking out on the drums is a minute long. Krilov replied to the band on Instagram after they shared his cover, "Thank you Metallica for sharing my video. I will never forget this day. I got a lot of new followers and metal friends today. I hope you come to Philly next year so I can see you live."
Krilov's video has been viewed more than 300,000 times on Metallica's page in just one day.
