The initial autopsy done on George Michael has proved to be "inconclusive."

The Thames Valley police released a statement saying that the results were "inconclusive" and more tests will be done to determine the singer's exact cause of death.

“The cause of death is inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out," the statement read. "The results of the tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks.”

His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

As we reported, the British star was found dead at his home in Oxfordshire, England, on Christmas Day. He was 53.

His family confirmed his death saying that “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George Michael passed away peacefully over the Christmas period.”

Shortly after the news of his death broke, his manager indicated that he died of heart failure.
