Harry Styles will perform solo for the first time on Saturday Night Live.  He will be the musical guest on the April 15 episode, with host Jimmy Fallon.

On Tuesday, March 28, Saturday Night Live tweeted out a picture of the April 15 lineup to announce Styles as the musical guest.  Needless to say, the Internet went crazy.  The tweet itself received 25,000  retweets and 43,000 likes in less than 24 hours.

Jimmy Fallon also tweeted out his excitement to share the stage with Styles in a hilarious tweet that also gained a lot of attention.

This news comes after Styles released a mysterious trailer revealing his debut single to be released on Friday, April 7.

Styles is not a stranger to the SNL stage.  He has performed three times with One Direction on the show.  But now that the band is on hiatus and each member is embarking on their own solo projects, the singer will have more room to perform on the iconic television series himself.

Styles will also have to deal with the fact that Saturday Night Live has decided to air live across the United States for the first time in its 41- year history, as reported by Deadline.

This episode also marks Fallon's third time hosting.  In one of Fallon's episodes as the host, he actually did a funny impression of the British heartthrob, seen in the GIF below.
