Another one of President Donald Trump’s businesses has closed up shop.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source with Trump Model Management confirmed the news April 11.
Mother Jones reported the news was announced in a leaked e-mail. Corinne Nicolas, who is the president of Trump Models, wrote to colleagues “The Trump Organization is choosing to exit the modeling industry.” No date was given for when operations would effectively be finished.
In a statement, a former agent of the business said “We did a great job and our models clearly loved us; they stayed until the end. But to see people terrified for their job security and their future? That wasn’t nice, especially when it was not our fault that the name of the agency was what it was.”
The Washington Post had reported there was a possibility the agency could close its doors, especially after one manager formed a new agency and took “many of the women who were once on the Trump Models roster.”
Founded in 1999, the company had repped people such as Yasmin Le Bon, Jerry Hall, Carmen Dell’Orefice and Veronica Webb.
Other business ventures that have ended for Trump include Trump Magazine, a travel website, Trump Mortgage and Trump Steaks.
